A stylish Southport guest house has been awarded the title of Merseyside B&B Of The Year 2020. 

The Heidi Bed & Breakfast was awarded the prestigious accolade in the 2020 UK Enterprise Awards. 

Judges said: “With life in the UK slowly getting back to normal, now feels like the perfect time to announce the results of our prestigious 2020 UK Enterprise Awards, proudly hosted by SME-News.

“I am delighted to say it’s great news! Heidi has been awarded B&B Of The Year 2020 – Merseyside.

“I hope that in the midst of everything this news is well received, and brings a smile to your face!

The Heidi Bed & Breakfast is situated on Bold Street in Southport town centre, just a couple of minutes’ walk from both the main Lord Street shopping boulevard and Southport Theatre & Convention Centre. 

It is owned by Michelle and Alastair Michie. 

They said: “It is very rewarding and uplifting to be recognised for such a prestigious award, especially in these uncertain times.

“It shows we are looking after our guests, and that nothing is too much trouble. 

“We miss our guests and can’t wait for them to return, as the Heidi Bead & Breakfast isn’t the same without them! 

“Lockdown has however given us time to decorate and maintain our beautiful building.”

The Heidi Bed & Breakfast is a large detached Victorian building on Bold Street, perfectly placed for guests to enjoy walking to nearby Southport attractions such as Lord Street, Southport Theatre, Southport Pleasureland, The Atkinson, King’s Gardens, Victoria Park and Southport Pier. 

It is just a few minutes’ walk away from the site of major local events such as Southport Air Show, Southport Flower Show, the British Musical Fireworks Championship, Southport Comedy Festival and Southport Food and Drink Festival, as well as being well placed for golf enthusiasts looking to explore ‘England’s Golf Coast’.

The venue contains eight tastefully decorated spacious bedrooms over two floors, a visitors’ lounge to rest your weary feet, and a private car park at the rear which is free to use for all guests. 

Each room contains flatscreen TVs with Freeview, hairdryers, tea and coffee making facilities

And en suite facilities. 

Michelle and Alan said: “We take great pride in providing a hearty full English breakfast, and for those that like a lighter option we have fresh fruits, cereals and fruit juices.

“On top of all this we include free access for guests to Victoria Leisure Club on the Promenade which offers swimming pools, a gym, sauna, steam room and fitness classes.”
